Chinese Lantern Guided Meditation Script

I recently started to teach Children’s Yoga classes which I have been trying to theme. As this Friday will be Chinese New Year, marking the start of the Year of the Ox, I decided that we would have a Chinese theme to classes this week.

We started off with Firecracker Breathing as our Pranayama before moving onto the traditional story of the Chinese New Year and how the animals became mascots for the years. This involved rather a lot of different Yoga asana!

To end, I wanted a Chinese New Year themed guided meditation which would be suitable for children aged from 5 to 11. I decided to go with the theme of Chinese Lanterns and how we can share our special inner light with others to spread joy, peace & happiness.

Chinese Lanterns Guided Meditation

Take some deep breaths and feel your body start to relax.

Feel your body becoming lighter, remaining still and calm.

You feel so light now, so light that you imagine your body beginning to float up off the ground. Imagine that you are a Chinese lantern, a bright, shining light which drifts gracefully above the ground, floating steadily higher and higher. 

You float up high above the ground into the night sky. It is a beautifully clear night with the stars shining brightly around you. As you float gently through the air, you begin to notice lights below you. You look closely at these lights and realise that they are the lights of houses, cars and street lights way below you. 

As you glide through the night sky, you feel so relaxed, so free and at peace. Take some time to float gently above the earth, enjoying the twinkling lights below you and the feeling of relaxation which you feel. 

Turn your attention now to the stars in the sky. You float gently higher and higher into the sky until you feel that you are amongst the stars. The light of your lantern is shining brightly, just as your inner light shines brightly. To anyone on the ground looking up, they can see your light moving gracefully amongst the stars. Your brilliant inner light is what makes you special. When other people see your beautiful light, it makes them feel happy and spreads happiness. Imagine sending your light down to all the people on the ground below you, spreading love, joy, peace and happiness. Feel your light spreading around the world.  

Turn your attention again to the lights below you. You begin to float down to them, noticing each light in the houses, on the cars and on the streetlights and traffic lights below you. Think again about how you can spread happiness through sharing your light with others. 

As your Chinese lantern touches back down on the ground, allow your attention to return to your breathing. Notice how your belly rises and falls with each breath that you take. 

Now, listen to the sounds in the room with you… and any you can hear outside. 

It’s time to bring some movement gently back into the body by carefully turning your head from side to side. Now, wiggle your fingers and your toes. When you feel ready, roll over onto your side and carefully push yourself up into a seated position. 

Remember to take your shining light with you wherever you go.

Blessing and Dedicating your new Angel Cards

It is always exciting to get a new deck of Angel cards, but do you know how to connect with them? Follow these simple steps to bless and dedicate your Angel cards which will help you to develop a deep connection with them.

Take some time to look through the cards, familiarising yourself with the imagery and any text they may contain. Next, hold your cards in your non-dominant hand (so if you are right handed, hold them in your left hand) and make a fist with your other hand. Make 3 sharp blows with your fist on the deck of cards to release any energy which may be contained in them either from when they were made or from a previous owner. 

Now, fan the cards out and, with the right side facing you, bring them towards your heart. Hold them here for as long as feels right for you. 

The next step is to imagine yourself in a bubble of pink protective light and ask the angels and your Guardian Angel and/or Spirit Guide if you have them to be with you. 

Angels, please keep me safe; surround me with your loving light. 

It is now time to bless and dedicate your Angel cards. You can use these words, or choose some of your own:

Angels of light, thank you for blessing me with your presence. I ask that you bless these Angel cards with your love and light so that I may use them as a tool to connect with you and your guidance. Please help me to grow spiritually and to develop my connection with you through these cards. Thank you for your love and light and for being by my side as a guide and companion. Thank you for revealing your messages to me through these cards. 

I dedicate these cards to your divine guidance; that these cards will act as a bridge which strengthens our connection. I will use these cards for their highest good with love and light. 

And so it is.

Once you have finished your blessing and dedication, again spend some time looking at the cards. This time you may maybe feel a connection to certain cards. 

Finally, it is time to make your first simple card reading. Hold the cards to your heart and ask your  Angels what they would like you to know. You may wish to use a little prayer or rhyme:

Angels, please keep me safe; surround me with your loving light. 

Please give me guidance and insight, pure and bright. 

When you feel ready, shuffle the cards until you feel the urge to stop. The card which is on the top is what your Angels would like you to know. Sometimes a card may jump out of the pack as you are shuffling them, again this is a message. If a number or cards jump out, place them back in the pack and refocus on your question. 

Once you have completed your card reading, thank your Angels for their love, guidance and support. 

You may want to keep a record of your readings so that you can look back on them over time. Using an Angel Journal can be a lovely way to do this. 


Not Your Average Yoga Teacher

I’m Helen; I’m 46, I live with Arthritis, Asthma, Spondylitis and Fibromyalgia, oh and I am a Yoga Teacher. 

My opening sentence isn’t what you would usually expect from a Yoga Teacher. Most people would associate Yoga with young, super active, body conscious people, but then again I’m not your average Yoga Teacher. It’s my mission to make Yoga accessible for everyone and to break down those stereotype which we associate with it. Everyone’s body is different, so Yoga needs to be different for everyone. We can make it fit you, rather than you having to tie yourself into a pretzel.

I participated in my first ever Yoga class as a teenager and left half way through in tears. It was an Ashtanga class, a really strong form of Yoga and the instructor actually cam along and sat on my back without any warning! This was not what I expected from a Yoga class and is certainly not what I would ever do. This experience put me off classes, but I continued to practise at home using a video and books as guidance. 

Over the years I’ve practised under a number of teachers, but sadly it’s mainly the ones who didn’t suit me that have stayed with me: the teacher who didn’t move from her mat and offered no alternative poses; the teacher who was so focused on cardio that her classes were more of a workout than Yoga and the teacher who wanted to prove that she could master party tricks like tying herself in knots. However, it’s these negative experiences which have made me the Yoga Teacher I am. I will never force you into a pose; I will try my best to find a modification to a pose which suits you; my classes are at a steady pace and while I can do the odd party trick, I won’t be expecting my clients to do them unless they really want to!

When I tell people I do Yoga, the most frequent response is, “You must be so flexible: I’m not flexible; Yoga isn’t for me!” I always respond with, “Can you breathe?” Next follows another strange look and in incredulous, “Of course!” I simply smile, “Well, then you can do Yoga!”

My Yoga journey eventually lead me to completing my 200 hour Hatha Yoga Teaching qualification as well as a 40 hour Yin Yoga qualification and I am a member of Yoga Alliance Professionals. I want to bring Yoga to people who would automatically assume it’s not for them. I’m going to be working alongside Maggie and her team at Spark Fitness from September 2020 to bring you a range of Yoga classes and workshops. Due to current restrictions, we can accommodate 4 people in person in the studio, but we can also live stream if you can’t make it to the studio or prefer to practise from home. 

My Yoga for Runners workshop is suitable for all abilities from Yoga virgins to Yoga veterans. We will be working through stretching, strengthening and balances poses before experiencing Yoga Nidra, a deeply relaxing meditation said to be equal to 4 hours of deep sleep. Following this 2 hour workshop, you will feel stretched, relaxed and stronger, ready for when you next lace up your running trainers. Many top sportspeople include Yoga as part of their training routine as it lengthens muscles, realigns joints and stabilises the body through balance and strengthening postures so that the body is better equipped to cope with the rigours of their sport. 

Tuesday evenings will be home to my Hatha Yoga classes. Again, these are suitable for all abilities; remember that Yoga fits your body, rather than your body having to fit Yoga. These classes start off with breathing techniques which calm the mind and prepare you for your practice. From here, we will gently stretch the body before moving to some gentle flow work, moving from one position to the next. I will demonstrate the poses and give you guidance to make it fit your body. I will never force you into position. Following our movement sequence and build to a strengthening posture, we begin to relax in preparation for our meditation section of the class. After class, you will feel stretched and refreshed. 

Over a two week period, I will be running a Yoga for Beginners course. This will be for 45 minutes a day Monday to Friday. During this course, we will look at Yoga as a form of exercise and a model for life in general. We will break down postures during pose clinics, ensuring that you know how the pose should feel for you. Over time, we will put these poses together into a flowing sequence. Each class we will start with a breathing technique, which in Yoga we call Pranayama, before gentle stretches and looking at poses. Each class will end with a meditation session. Over the two weeks, we will build up your knowledge of what Yoga is about, how it can benefit you and learn some key poses (in Yoga, we call these Asanas). This course will give you the confidence to continue your Yoga practise either at home or joining our weekly studio classes. You will understand how to incorporate Yoga into your everyday life and will feel stretched, strengthened and calmer. 

As I opened by saying, I am not your stereotypical Yogini. I love Yoga and try to live a Yogic lifestyle, but I don’t force myself into uncomfortable poses. My mission is to bring Yoga to people who think they cannot do it; to help you find your Yoga, just as I have found mine. Remember, if you can breathe, you can do Yoga!  


Archangel Chamuel Guided Meditation

I love Archangel Chamuel and his loving pink ray of light. I always feel a warm glow surround me when I work with him. When I taught this meditation in my Angelic Yoga class, there was a bright orb over my right shoulder and a tiny white feather landed in my lap. I believe that Chamuel was delighted to join us in your Yoga practice.

Here is the Guided Meditation script:

Settle down so that you are comfortable; maybe you would like to use a pillow and a blanket. 

Begin to feel where your body comes into contact with the ground beneath you. Notice how Mother Earth is supporting you. Feel the air above you; maybe it is a gentle breeze over your skin or simply the temperature. Relax into this position. 

Notice your breathing. Is it shallow or is it deep? Are you breathing through your mouth or your nose? Just be aware of your breathing and don’t try to change it. 

Gently close your eyes. Feel yourself relax more deeply. 

Mighty Archangel Chamuel, I ask you to fill me with healing, loving energy. Help me feel that it is safe to be loved, to feel worthy of love and to feel love for others.  

Feel yourself enveloped by the energy of Archangel Chamuel; allow yourself to be raised upwards on a spiral of pure, delicate pink light. 

Slowly, the light spiral raises you higher and higher; you can feel yourself held perfectly safely in angelic arms. 

You find yourself close to Archangel Chamuel’s Temple of Light, the Temple of the Crystal Pink Flame, in the etheric realm above St Louis, Missouri. The Temple is surrounded by beautiful rose gardens. You can smell their delicate scent as you walk along the pink stone path which leads you to an open gateway and from here you can see the Temple of the Crystal Pink Flame. 

The Temple does not have walls like we are familiar with. It is all made out of the forest.  It’s a beautiful Temple with branches of trees that come out into the circumference.  There are sixteen of these branches that looks like a column, but it is really a base of a tree that reaches high above us. As you walk into the Temple, it is very open as air flows through it, because there are no walls and no floor. The floor is the earth. Imagine yourself walking bare foot. Feel the warm earth beneath your feet. 

As you enter the Temple of Light, you will see the beautiful Pink Flame. There are benches around the perimeter of the Temple which surround the flame. These benches are made of rose quartz, a beautiful and gentle soft pink. Take a moment to sit down and connect to the energy of the Pink Flame. Take a deep breath and allow the ignition of the Pink Flame to come into your Heart Centre. You feel the frequency changing within you. Allow peaceful openness and acceptance to flow through you. 

Archangel Chamuel and the angels of love gather round you and surround you with their beautiful pink light. Notice how the atmosphere around you becomes warm and feels loving. 

Gently place your left hand onto your heart chakra. Visualise the 12 petals of your Heart Chakra opening out, to reveal your own scared point of consciousness, your own inner altar. Feel the Crystal Pink flame merging with your own, feeling yourself overwhelmed with loving energy. Notice as the flame transforms into a beautiful, golden six pointed star. 

Invite the angelic love to dwell within your heart. Send this delicate pink, loving energy around your body, into your aura, into the space around you. Send the loving energy through your town, your country, around the earth and into the Universe. Send loving energy to everyone who you care about. 

Archangel Chamuel now signals that is it time to leave this Temple of Light and return to your physical body and space. You thank Archangel Chamuel and his angels for this precious time spent together and retrace your steps down the pink stone path, through the beautiful rose garden. 

Become aware of the feeling of the ground beneath your own body. Feel the air above you. Notice your breaths. 

When you feel ready, begin to wriggle your fingers and toes. Bring your knees into your chest and hug them tightly. When you feel ready, roll over onto your left side, then bring yourself up into a seated position. 

Bring your hands to your heart chakra in prayer position. Bow your head to your hands and your hands to the earth. 



Archangel Metatron

Archangel Metatron is one of only 2 Ascended Masters, the other being Sandalphon. That means that he was originally human, but through his actions & spirituality, he was raised to a higher level & became an Archangel. Metatron’s experience living on Earth as a person gives him a special ability to relate to people who want to connect with him.

Metatron is the guardian of the threshold between the world of forms and the formless. It is said that he holds the highest vibration of all the archangels. Nevertheless, his energy is delicate, soft, illuminating and it is pure universal love. Metatron is the beginning and the end. His energy opens the gates of consciousness and dimensions. He gives us knowledge, insight and clarity. Metatron lets us see what is holding us back and shows us the various ways forward. His energy brings silence, contentment, happiness and unity.

Metatron is associated with brilliant white light and the Soul Star Chakra, sometime referred to as he eighth chakra,  which is located a hand’s length above your head. The Soul Star Chakra contains information relating to your soul. Once this transcendental chakra is activated by Archangel Metatron, key information is then downloaded to your lower chakra system which initiates the process known as ‘light body activation’, ‘ascension into cosmic consciousness’, or enlightenment. 

White light is the supreme ray, containing and reflecting all colours of the spectrum and even those which we cannot see with human sight. Working with this brilliant light & invoking Archangel Metatron can bring about unprecedented spiritual growth. His vortex of light is so vast & luminous that we often perceive him as a pillar of fire which is more dazzling than the Sun. His brilliant bright light is often seen by those having near death experiences. 

Diamonds are associated with Archangel Metatron, their name coming from the Greek Adamas which means invincible. Diamonds are the hardest of all natural substances & their energy & brilliance can subtly protect energy fields from the toxic energy of others. Both Diamonds & Archangel Metatron are capable of healing the whole body including the immune system, allergies & chronics conditions. Wearing diamonds endows the wearer with purity, love & joy. 

Working with Archangel Metatron helps us to cleanse and balance our emotions; bringing inner peace & tranquility, wiping the slate clean & dissolving emotional debris. Archangel Metatron is known as the Angel of Life. The energy of Archangel Metatron is very light and upbeat. He raises the energy of everyone he touches which is why he is the perfect Archangel to contact when you are seeking to raise your energy or to make spiritual progress.

Archangel Metatron is a powerful angel who teaches people how to use their spiritual power for good while he records their choices in the universe’s great archive. This is the Akashic Records in which there is a record of everything that happens in the Universe, including all the good deeds and sins of everyone on Earth.

Metatron offers a direct link between the physical world that we live in and the Celestial Realm of the angels. Archangel Metatron’s Merkabah cube is a mystical tool that he uses to heal and clear the negative energies from our lives. The cube is an example of sacred geometry, made from celestial energy, and spins in a clockwise manner, harnessing centrifugal forces to clear away negativity from our energy body. The Merkabah cube, being multidimensional, holds unlimited power to influence the flow of energy and information in the universe. Through the use of sacred geometry, namely the Merkabah cube, Metatron has unlimited power to intercede on our behalf whenever we need him.

Archangel Metatron’s healing is sent in the form of the vibration of these sacred geometric shapes entering your system at your crown chakra and flowing through all chakras for perfect balance. When you ask Metatron for his healing or to raise your spiritual vibration, this is what he will essentially do, so it can help to visualise a shape you resonate with travelling through your chakras. You can ask for healing of one chakra or all chakras including those outside of our bodies, so asking for healing of all chakras can lead to intense spiritual experiences. You can also meditate with or carry one of the sacred geometric shapes to assimilate its energy and Metatron’s healing. 

Metatron often urges people to replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts. He assists you in choosing your thoughts carefully. Always try to be the master of your thoughts instead of a slave to your thoughts. When you are the master, you are in charge, meaning you are motivated, focused, and inspired with positive thoughts. You may wish to use physical tools (such as a quartz crystal or a yellow or gold candle) in meditation to call upon Metatron as a “pillar of light.” Metatron will help you to rid yourself of all energies that do not serve your own higher good.

Metatron can also call to you with the well-known 11:11 sign. Many people worldwide have experienced repetitive sightings of the number 11:11 on clocks, tickets, etc. 11:11 is the most powerful of master numbers, is known as a DNA activation code for the ascension process, and also “The Gates of Metatron”. You know you are awakening if you begin to see 11:11 over and over again. It will usually then stop for a time, but recur whenever you are making a large leap forward spiritually. It is lucky to see 11:11, and some people thank Metatron, the angels in general, or the universe. Some people send up a prayer or make a wish when they see it. You do not need to have asked for Metatron’s help to see it, though it can be one of his “signs”. More often than not, Metatron calls people with this sign when they are beginning to be ready for awakening to their true spiritual nature.

Thank you Archangel Metatron for helping me to release old patterns I no longer need. Help me to feel safe and free so I can live my life with a feeling of inner peace and tranquility. So mote it be.

Archangel Raphael is the supreme healer in the angelic realm and chief role is to support, heal, and guide in matters involving health. One of the main energetic tools or methods utilised by Raphael is a profound Emerald Green Healing Light. He may surround you with this emerald green light to nurture your physical both and etheric energy field in order to help rejuvenate your physical vitality. The Green Ray has the energetic quality to break up toxic energy and so it works by breaking up the blockages and distortions blocking your healing so you can tap into your bodies innate ability to self heal. Green is also the colour of the Anahata Chakra.

The Anahata Chakra, Heart Chakra, located in the centre of the chest is the chakra of love, acceptance and compassion. When this chakra is balanced, you feel loving, empathetic, open-hearted, sincere and emotionally balanced. When the Anahata Chakra is unbalanced, you may experience ill health particularly related to the heart and lung area, suffer from allergies and feel lonely or jealous.

All about me …

Hi, I’m Helen & I live in Manchester with my husband and our two lovely Lurchers.

I’ve been practicing Yoga and Pilates for a number of years, and I also love running with my fabulous group The Prestwich Plodders. I work with my angels on a daily basis, guided by my guardian angel, Psalmia. 

Three years ago, I was diagnosed with arthritis in most joints and Fibromyalgia, a chronic pain and fatigue illness. I was determined to fight this diagnosis and not to be defined by my condition. I joined a gym, enlisted the help of a Personal Trainer and started running.

Through regular Yoga and Pilates classes, I very quickly got most of my mobility back and it helped to calm and focus me when I was in a bad place. I started practising more and more until I decided that I wanted to help other people too. I decided to become and Yoga and Pilates Teacher, and undertook many hours of study, online seminars, coursework and exams to make this dream a reality. 

It is my aim to offer online classes and tutorials to help others through the magic of Yoga and Pilates. In the future, I will be offering face to face workshops at local Yoga Studios. 

I first became aware of angels in my teenage years, although at the time there weren’t many resources or books to help me develop my practice. I noticed the signs around me, often receiving messages and ‘just knowing’ things which someone was about to say or do. As Angelology become more commonplace, I devoured all literature I could find, working with my angel cards daily. In 2010, I wrote my BA(Hons) dissertation about Angels and their role in modern society. I was awarded a First for this research. 

I lost my Mum very suddenly in 2016 and on that day, put all my angel cards, books, figures and equipment away. I simply couldn’t bear to look at them as I felt abandoned. Of course, I hadn’t been; your angels never leave you! When I was working towards my Yoga Teacher qualification, I started working with my angels again. Very quickly, I started receiving messages and visions, and began to be able to ‘know’ spirits were near. Guided by Psalmia, my guardian angel, I have once again developed my Angel Work practice and have developed Angelic Hatha Yoga. In this practice, we invite the angels to join us through meditation and through our asanas. It is a beautiful, calming and unique practice.
