Yoga has been a passion of mine since I was a teenager, especially the gentler forms such as Hatha and Yin. Yoga is about so much more than just striking a pose, its about taking a holistic approach to your physical, emotional and mental health. Through a series of movements and breathing you can feel fitter, stronger and more at peace.
Hatha Yoga is a wonderful class including breathing, asanas (poses and sequences) and ending with a meditation practice.
Yin Yoga is a slow practice in which poses are held for up to 5 minutes. Working with Traditional Chinese Meridians, energy lines in the body, we hold poses to stretch connective tissues and fascia.
Yoga Nidra is Yogic Sleep. It is said that 1 hour of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to 4 hours of deep sleep. Yoga Nidra combines gentle Hatha asanas with guided meditation and mindfulness exercises which will leave you feeling refreshed and peaceful.
Children’s Yoga is a fun half hour class taught by Helen who is a qualified Primary School Teacher and holds a DBS check with Athletics England. In these classes, children practise Yoga through a fun mix of games, songs and stories and close the class with a peaceful meditation. Children’s Yoga classes are suitable for ages 5-11 and I am happy to take up to 3 children from one household per booking.
Angelic Yoga was developed by Helen Crossley, combining Hatha Yoga and Angelic Healing. In Angelic Yoga practices, we work with a specific Archangel to enhance our yogic practice, ending the session with a beautiful guided Angelic meditation. In a longer Angelic Yoga Workshop, Helen combines Angel Cards, Hatha Yoga, Angelic Meditation and a Himalayan Sound Bath for a wonderfully uplifting experience.
Yoga for Runners Workshops Yoga is the perfect recovery activity for Runners. It can help to relieve tension in your muscles and restores your range of movement allowing you to run better the next time you lace up your trainers. We will start with some gentle stretching to ease sore muscles before moving into a stretching and strengthening yoga sequence. Following this, we will hold some Yin Yoga poses which stretch the fascia, a network of tiny fibres throughout the body. The Yin poses are gentle poses which we hold for up to 5 minutes, before holding a quicker counter pose. We will close the session with a relaxation and meditation section. Due to current Covid restrictions, we have to limit studio places to just 4, however access is also available via live stream.
